Emile-Allain Séguy, known as E.A. Seguy and not to be confused with Eugene Séguy an entomologist of the same period, was a French designer of the 1920’s and 30’s.  He worked extensively in a printing process known as Pochoir (a stencil printed process with each stencil being used for each different colour).

He produced 11 albums of butterflies, insects, and other subjects of the natural world over a period from the early 1920’s and into the 1930’s.

Pochoir was time consuming and proved to be not a viable printing process due to the expense of the labor and time involved in the printing technique.  The artistic results of the technique are amazing in the richness of the colours and the textures of the inks and paints used in printing.

We offer here a sampling of the many prints he produced.  Ours are printed as giclees on the finest paper available and with archival inks.
